Stephanie Lacour Jenny’s seasonal rituals

Stephanie Lacour Jenny, owner of Le Picobello, shares what the Christmas season means to her.

What does the Christmas spirit mean to you?

« It is a time that I love because it is when I get together with my family, who are scattered all over France. It is a moment of sharing and joy. I also have a little boy who is about to turn seven, and I love seeing the magic of Christmas in his eyes. »

An essential tradition?

« I love going to the Christmas market on Place Broglie to add to my collection of baubles and to enjoy a Nutella waffle at my favourite stall. Then, on Christmas Eve, we open great wines to celebrate being together again. »

A must-have recipe?

« Bredeles. That is the only time of year when I eat them. Clients and my former nanny bring me some every year. I prefer the classics: spritz biscuits, sugar stars, hazelnut biscuits and the sablé with egg yolk. »

A place you like to visit at that time of year?

« I do love the Christmas market itself: the lights, the music, the activities, the attractions and the smell of mulled wine. Those are childhood memories for me. Crowds do not bother me. In short, it is a season I truly love, even if it is also a very busy time at the restaurant. »
