Le Picobello, the « mamma mia » bistro
Established for 11 years on rue des Freres, Le Picobello remains a strong neighbourhood bistro built around homemade Italian and Mediterranean flavours, with a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
At lunch, the restaurant is known for its daily specials and for regulars who know it is better to book ahead. Chef Nabila, together with her second-in-command Ittou, also prepares dishes beyond the strictly Italian repertoire at lunchtime in order to serve a fast-moving midday crowd.
On the main menu, traditional Italian recipes remain at the heart of the experience, from vongole bound with white wine and butter to true carbonara made without cream.
Not a pizzeria
Stephanie Jenny emphasises that everything is homemade and that the team works hard to keep the atmosphere friendly and authentic. The article highlights creamy saffron risottos, gambas dishes, Parma ham recipes, piccatas, morel gnocchi and Milanese escalopes.
