Reflet 2009 – Gilles Pudlowski
Published in Reflet no. 239 in March 2009, in Gilles Pudlowski’s « Good Tables » column.

A fresh start in Strasbourg
In this feature about three young and lively restaurants in Strasbourg, Gilles Pudlowski describes Le Picobello as one of the most appealing new addresses near the cathedral.
He presents Stephanie Jenny, whose family already had strong ties to the restaurant trade, and highlights the experience she gained in leading dining rooms such as Le Crocodile, JYS in Colmar and even at Robuchon’s Atelier in Paris.
The article also praises the kitchen led by Olivier Bigler, described as generous, fresh and full of flavour, with Italian dishes that invite thoughts of sunny holidays.
Among the dishes singled out are the grilled vegetables with ricotta, linguine with pesto, stuffed pasta in a rich tomato sauce, monkfish pot-au-feu, osso buco, pretty desserts such as panna cotta with red berries or cherry panettone, and a smart wine list featuring Italian bottles such as Nero d’Avola and Rosso di Montalcino.
The overall conclusion is clear: generous portions, fair prices, quality products and a cheerful atmosphere make Le Picobello a stop worth making.
